E-Dama MiniMidi Cup

About Minimidi Cup

Mini and Midi tournaments have been taking place at e-dama.net since October 2010. These tournaments are open to all players registered on the e-dama.net. Since 2013 points are given at Mini and Midi tournaments for e-Dama Minimidi Cup.

Minimidi Cup contest is taking place in 3 categories: E-Dama Mini Cup, E-Dama Midi Cup i E-Dama Minimidi Cup. For Mini Cup contest results from Mini tournaments are calculated, for Midi Cup results from Mini tournaments are calculated, while for Minimidi Cup results from both Mini and Midi tournaments are calculated.

Three best ranked players in each category will get diplomas, while 3 best ranked players in overall annual E-Dama Minimidi Cup will get medals.

Rules

Rules of this competition are simple. For each calendar year, all points won at Mini and Midi tournaments started in that year are being calculated. Scoring system is as follows:

• For 1st place at Mini tournament player wins 5 points.

• For 2nd place at Mini tournament player wins 1 point.

• For 1st place at Midi tournament player wins 9 points.

• For 2nd place at Midi tournament player wins 3 points.

• For 3rd place at Midi tournament player wins 1 point.

Winner of Mini or Midi tournament is player with highest points score. In cese of more players with the same number of points, tournament winner is decided according to Sonneborn-Berger system,

In case when more players at one tournament share place that gives points, points are shared equally to all players that share place. Number of won points is rounded to two decimal points. Here are few examples:

Example 1

In case 2 players share 1st place at Midi Cup, each player wins (9+3)/2=6 points.

Example 2

In case 3 players share 1st place at Mini Cup, each player wins (5+1)/3=2 points.

Example 3

Three players share 2nd place at Midi tournament. Each of them wins (3+1)/3=1.33 points.

Annual winner of Mini Cup, Midi Cup and Minimidi Cup is declared after all tournaments started in respective year are finished.

Mini and Midi Tournaments General Terms

Time control in final tournament will be 120 days for 50 moves, plus 50 days for the rest of the game.

In games played on Mini and Midi tournaments it is allowed to use computers for thinking.

During the game each player can take a vacation in duration of 30 days. Vacation can be taken in not more than two parts. Player have to take vacation by him/herself. In case of using vacation for the first time, tournament coordinator can assist the payer.

Player must start to play all games at latest 10 days after tournament has been started. In case not, player will be automatically erased from the tournament and will be replaced by stand-by player.

If player does not make a move in 35 days, a warning will be sent to him. If player does not make a move within 10 days from the warning, he/she loses the game automatically. Tournament coordinator may, in special situations (illness, internet access problems and other situations in which player couldn’t play due to objective reasons or “force majeur"), grant administrative leave to the player.

When one of the players exceeds time control limit, second player can claim the victory from the coordinator. Coordinator must verify if request is justified, and if yes, declare the victory to the player who claimed it. Also, in case the time control limit is exceeded, coordinator can declare victory to one of the players even if second player didn’t claim it, for the purpose of timely end of tournament, particularly if some other player(s) at that tournament requested it. In case of such ending, if both players exceeded time control limit, such game will be declared finished with result 0-0.
